I am re-working and editing as I go to check if there are any mistakes or something that doesn’t make sense. By this I can check that everything I write is correct in grammer and im using PIGS.

Everyone knows about Ludwig Van Beethoven (Beethoven for short) the genius music composer during the transition of the classical music period (1730-1820) to the romantic period (1800-1850) .he was baptised in December 1700 Bonn, his exact birth date is unknown.He is a well known German pianist and composer. One of his most famous pieces ‘Moonlight Sonata’, a timeless classical music hit. In 1782 before the age of 12, Beethoven published his first work ‘9 Variations In C Minor’. The following year Neefe his teacher wrote in the magazine of music - if he continues like this, he will be, without a doubt, the new Mozart’.

His father had found out about his musical talents at an early age and wanted wanted him to turn into the next Mozart. He would sometimes lock him in a room and make him practise for hours each day, each time he got a note wrong or even if he hesitated he would slap him. Despite his father's actions he loved music unlike anything else. Sadly when he was 16, his mother died of consumption( a wasting disease) . On march the 26th at the age of 7 and a 1/2, Beethoven gave his first public performance at Cologne, the song he played was ‘Various Elavier Concertos and Trios’.

The compositions of Beethoven includes 722 works written over 45 years, from his earliest work in when he was only 12 and still lived in Bonn,to his last work just before death in Vienna in 1827. During Beethoven's lifetime he composed in all the main genres of music, some of the most famous pieces include - 9 symphonies, 5 concertos, 16 string quartets, 32 piano sonatas and one piece of opera music. His works range from a solo performer to needing a large orchestra and chorus to perform. Beethoven’s works are divided into 3 main periods: the early period that he composed in the Viennese style which he wrote when he first moved to Vienna, the middle period that he composed when he was half deaf and his late period which was intense and emotional music.

Around 1801 Beethoven began to lose his hearing. This alI started in 1796 when he was only 26 years old, he started to hear buzzing noises in his ears. The actual deafness began in 1792, and Beethoven had lost 60% of his hearing by 1801 at the age of 31. In 1816 Beethoven at the age of 46 had gone completely deaf. People believe the cause of his deafness was due to his habit of plunging his head in cold water to keep awake. Beethoven had once tried numerous attempts to try cure his deafness such as : using hearing trumpets and also a range of hearing aids. As to a musician/composer loss of hearing can be devastating and unacceptable. Due to his hearing loss his music style is slowly changing too. He began to use lower notes rather than higher notes, so that he could hear more clearly. Works like ‘moonlight sonata’, ‘fidelio’(his only opera music) and 6 symphonies are written during this period. He passed away on the 26th of march 1827 at the age of 56.

Ludwig Van Beethoven, the composer who unlike any other changed music, the sound of music and what music is. Some musicians make music for fame or wealth, but Beethoven makes music for the sake of it and what music is actually. Nearly 200 years after his death, no-one expects for his pieces to settle down anytime soon. Ludwig Van Beethoven a name that will forever go down in history!
